Courses

I give courses (it's more like group coaching) in the Getting Things Done methodology. The open courses have a unique pricing model: you decide. You tell me what value the course had for you, and you'll get an invoice for that amount.

Sounds familiar?

  • You're pretty good at your work, but the pressure to do more is mounting
  • It gets more and more difficult to maintain an overview of what you still have to do
  • At the end of the day, your work goes home with you.
  • You never actually manage to get done what you want to get done
  • The tasks and projects you take on grow increasingly complex and difficult

The course Getting Things Done is based on David Allen's Getting Things Done methodology, but somewhat adapted to the Dutch work ethic and environment. This course can help you overcome and prevent these issues. The methodology has been developed in the United States, and has been succesfully introduced in many of the top companies there.

The results

  • You'll learn to clear your head so that you can use it to work more focussed, effective and efficient
  • You'll learn how to get your Inbox to empty on a daily basis
  • You'll learn what should and what should not go on to your calendar
  • You'll learn how and when to step back and regain an overview of all that's on your plate
  • You'll learn the difference between pre-defined work, ad-hoc work, and defining your work
  • You'll learn what you need to do to get a grip on the projects you're in
  • You'll learn when to pay attention to details, and when to take a helicopter view

Who is this course for?

The GTD methodology — and this course — is useful for anyone inundated with information, busy schedules and full inboxes. For secretaries and their managers

. For entrepreneurs who feel they're no longer doing what they should be doing. For work-at-home moms and dads who feel work and private encroach on each other's territories too much. For people who've just had a burn-out, and those hurtling towards one. In short: for everyone who wants to learn to use the tools needed to keep a clear head in a hectic environment.

Duration of the course

The course takes two afternoons, with at least one week in between. The reason is that it's fairly easy to just follow a course in GTD, but it's rather more difficult to implement when you're back at work and everyone and everything wants your attention. The second part of the course will pay ample attention to how to implement the tools in real life, given the experiences you've had so far.

Agenda

Day 1

  • Introduction
  • Why GTD?
  • The logic behind GTD
  • The illusion of a work/life balance
  • The six steps to peace of mind
  • Collect, clarify, organize

Day 2

  • Experiences so far
  • Collect, clarify, organize
  • Reflect, engage, perspective
  • Tools, tips and tricks

Price

You decide. At the end of the second day, you'll get an evaluation form on which you can state what you think the course was worth. You'll get an invoice for that amount.

Some fine print, though: if you fail to show up without a valid reason on either day, or if you don't fill out an evaluation form, you'll be invoiced € 400.

Location

The course will be held at various sites in the centre of the Netherlands.

Registration

You can register using this form. If you need more information, please use the contact form.

Custom-made

If several people from one organization would like to take a course, a custom-made course might be just the thing. Ask for the options. Alternatively, you might prefer coaching or tele-coaching.

A short seminar

Interested, but still sitting on the fence? I can give a short (30-60 min) seminar to explain just the basic principles. Want to know more?
